The Nursery Is Finally Finished!

The nursery is finally finished! We are so excited to welcome Jake & Lilly! Cody put his artistic abilities to work when he painted the wooden letters that spell out the babies’ names. He also transferred this beautiful vinyl quote above the closet door which is a daily reminder of just how precious these two gifts are to us. Both babies have their very own growth chart. It will be a while before they can stand and measure their height, but when the time comes, we’ll be ready! The rocker by the window is the very same one that Cody’s mom {Grammy} rocked him in more than 30 years ago. My favorite thing in the nursery is this white rocking horse. We actually have one for each baby, but will wait to pull the other one out until they are old enough to enjoy them! I just can’t believe that in just a few weeks, we will be welcoming them home. It has seemed like such a long time that we’ve waited for them, and now looking back over the past nine months, time has really flown by. I know these last several days will go by so quickly while we are still trying to take care of those last minute “To Do List” items! We have a scheduled induction date of July 12. Hopefully, Jake and Lilly decide to wait until then to make their big debut!

Jake & Lilly's Nursery

TWINS!

We both feel so completely blessed with the gift of two babies at once. We are overwhelmed at times, but we know that this was God's perfect plan. We look forward to meeting Lilly and Jake this summer and can't wait to see what else He has in store for our family.

Showers

We feel so blessed to have so many friends and family members celebrating these two precious miracles with us. I'm including pictures from three of our showers.... all in the same week!

The first was in Dallas and was hosted by my sister-in-law, Brichelle, and her mom, Sherry. The shower was held at Mom's house with a "Peas in the Pod" theme. So cute!!

My friends at RAE, Charla, Lynne, Kim, Susan, Laura, and Tess also hosted a shower at Blanca Garza's house. The shower was after school on Thursday. I enjoyed getting to see a few friends that have moved to other schools.

The third was at Andrea's house, hosted by Leigha, Shanna, Suzanne, Amanda, Bethany, and Shanna. My favorite game was the "Playdough Game." Guests had to create a baby face with playdough and I had to pick the cutest one. Some of the faces only a mother could love!! It was hilarious!

We are certainly set with baby gear... from the double stroller to double the cribs,
clothes, high chairs, and bibs. As Cody says, "It looks like Babies R Us threw up in our house!" We have everything we need.... doubled!!
